Ametek offers two types of battery analyzers: SI-9300 for high current (0 - 200A) and SI-6200 for low current (0 - 200mA). New stand-alone configurations have recently been released for both models.

The Ametek SI-9300R battery cycler is designed for testing high power batteries, fuel cells and electrolyzers at up to 10V/200A. Each channel of the battery analyzer performs the same basic function of a battery cycler for testing cylindrical, pouch and prismatic cells but includes additional features that target developers in HEV, PHEV and eV Second Life applications. Up to five channels can be connected in parallel to enable tests up to 1000A.

The SI-6200 battery cycler is designed for testing a wide range of battery materials, supercapacitors and micro fuel cells (MFC) at up to 200mA/10V per channel. Solartron battery analyzers are much more than standard battery cyclers offering a wide range of analytical capabilities.

Recently a stand-alone desktop cabinet version of the SI-9300 (p/n: SI-9300-SA) became available.

Now, Ametek have also released a desktop cabinet option for the SI-6200.

This allows for the choice of either stand-alone desktop cabinet operation, using up to stackable 10 channel modules, or a floor-standing configuration, both both the SI-9300 and SI-6200.

These unique stand-alone battery cyclers have specialized built-in circuitry that removes the need for costly and space consuming cabinets; allowing cycler modules to be positioned precisely where they are needed, close to climate chambers, test fixtures etc. Stand-alone models include SI-9300R-SA and SI-6200.

Advantages of stand-alone models:

  • Much shorter cable runs vs. centralized cabinet-based systems – increasing lab space and EIS performance

  • Easier cell connection

  • Local data collection using desktop NAS drive, or centralized via Ethernet network connection as required

  • Direct to disk data storage
