LaVision launches the next generation of PIV cameras – the Imager CX3p Camera Series

LaVision has launched the unique CX3p camera series. All the advantages of the LaVision Imager CX3 camera series, which was successfully introduced last year, were the basis for this further development.

The small and compact cameras of the Imager CX3 camera series, which are equipped with the innovative back-illuminated technology that enables incredible sensitivity and very low noise, have already been a resounding sales success. The small pixels enable very small fields of view for a given lens, and the hardware binning guarantees exceptional frame rates and therefore increased flexibility when using these cameras.

LaVision Cameras for Strain applications

LaVision is offering a wide range of cameras for operation purposes. Very common used for strain and deformation analysis for normal speed imaging are the CCD models Imager E-lite andImager X-lite.

The Imager E-lite cameras are high sensitivity, high resolution digital cameras, equipped with an interline transfer chip with progressive scan readout. The cameras deliver 12 bit digital images and comes with a fast Gigabit Ethernet interface for distances up to 100 m. In combination with its small and lightweight design, these cameras are ideal for flexible and portable use. Models are available with 2 and 5 mega pixel.

LaVision High Speed cameras

For imaging applications requiring higher frame rates CMOS cameras are the best choice. Modern sensor technology enables an ever increasing image recording speed with maximum frame rates up to 22 kHz for max sensor resolution or up to 600 kHz and more for reduced sensor resolution. Read more....

LaVision Imager SX cameras

LaVision Imager SX cameras are price-efficient high resolution and low noise digital cameras. The cameras are available with 6 and 9 million pixel spatial resolution and frame rates up to 25 Hz and 18 Hz, respectively.
All models can be operated at full spatial resolution or in reduced resolution modes so that higher framerates can be achieved when required.

LaVision Imager sCMOS camera

LaVision Imager sCMOS camera contains a new generation of scientific CMOS (sCMOS) sensor and combines the advantages of modern CCD and CMOS sensor technologies resulting in an unsurpassed image quality and system performance. The high resolution 5.5 million pixel Imager sCMOS camera with extremely low readout noise and high frame rates of 50 Hz at full resolution offers excellent PIV performance for flow field imaging. It generates precise trigger pulses for cameras, lasers and other external devices under the control of DaVis. LaVision Imager sCMOS series of new cameras for PIV applications

LaVision's well-proven very sensitive Imager sCMOS camera now comes with a modern and ultra-fast Camera Link HS interface allowing high data throughput. The connection from camera head to frame grabber via fiber optical link enables safe data transfer over long distances.

For moderate velocity ranges the Imager MX 2M and MX 5M USB3 cameras are best suited. The cameras offer frame rates around 100 Hz, in combination with a 50 Hz or 100 Hz PIV laser they are ideal for applications in water or other fluids. All cameras are compact and light weight and have an in-built double shutter mode for short interframe times for a wide range of PIV flow field applications. The new Imager SX 6M and SX 9M cameras are price-efficient, low noise cameras and provide a modern USB3 Vision interface. The cameras combine high spatial resolution for larger scale PIV application with high frame rates.

LaVision FRAME Imaging Technology: Fastest camera in the world

Forget high-speed cameras capturing 100 000 images per second. A research group at Lund University in Sweden has developed a camera that can film at a rate equivalent to five trillion images per second, or events as short as 0.2 trillionths of a second. This is faster than has previously been possible.
