Solve every challenge in coating thickness measurement and material testing

Every measurement task has an ideal solution. Fischer offers the widest range of measurement probes to provide the best measurement results. With decades of experience in numerous industries, Helmut Fischer offers quality probes for coating thickness, material composition and electrical conductivity.

The Helmut Fischer FMP series instruments are compatible with each probe we manufacture, offering you the versatility you need for a wide range of applications. As the probes are interchangeable, simply connect one to your measuring device to start measuring.

Our probes are able to measure the smallest spots, thin to thick coatings, rough and smooth surfaces to multiple coatings and alloys.

Applications

  • Magnetic induction probes: non-magnetizable coatings on easily magnetizable substrates
  • Amplitude-sensitive eddy current probes: non-magnetic and non-conductive coatings on electrically conductive, non-magnetic substrates
  • Dual probes: measurements on steel and non-ferrous metals
  • Phase-sensitive eddy current probes: electrically conductive, and/or magnetizable coatings on many different substrates
  • Magnetic probes: magnetizable coatings on non-magnetizable substrates and non-magnetizable coatings (particularly thick metal layers) on easily magnetizable substrates
  • Conductivity probes: measurement of the specific electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals (e.g. aluminum alloys), material mix-up checks or indirect analysis of material properties (e.g. microstructure, degree of purity, hardness) via conductivity measurements
  • Duplex probes: paint on galvanic zinc on steel, paint on hot-dip zinc on steel
  • Ferrite probes: testing of the ferrite and martensite content on austenitic steels and duplex steels

Features

  • Large variety of high quality measuring probes with different housing shapes and properties
  • Robust, wear-protected probe tips ensure measurement results that remain precise over the long term
  • Spring-loaded system ensures virtually constant contact pressure, even during manual measurement
  • Individual factory calibration of each probe ensures maximum precision
  • High precision conductivity compensation for all amplitude-sensitive eddy current measuring probes prevents influence by different electrical conductivities
  • Probe with curvature compensation for use with the amplitude-sensitive eddy current measurement method
