Light Conversion's TOPAS‑TWINS are two independently tunable optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) for Ti:Sapphire lasers, integrated into a single housing. Both OPAs share the same white light source to provide excellent and bound up stability of both outputs. Shared white light enables the user to generate CEP locked mid‑IR pulses in 4.5 – 15 μm range.
The maximum pump energy into each OPA depends on the pulse duration; see the specification notes for more details. Both OPAs come with wavelength extension options, which can cover the wavelength range from 240 nm to 20 μm. Output specifications for each OPA are the same as of TOPAS‑PRIME.
Features:
- Two independently tunable outputs with single white light seed
- Energy conversion into the parametric radiation efficiency > 25%
- Tuning range spanning from 240 nm to 20 μm in each channel, computer controlled
- High output stability throughout the entire tuning range

TOPAS-TWINS specifications are given for the following pump laser parameters:
ULTRAFAST (20-70 fs):
- 800 nm wavelength
- 1 mJ pulse energy
- 30 – 40 fs pulse duration
- 1 kHz repetition rate
- Gaussian beam
Note 1:
Output energy for each OPA scales up linearly in 1 – 4 mJ range, provided the device is installed and optimized for a particular pump energy. The device has to be re-optimized for optimal performance should the pump energy change more than ±10 % from the installation value).
FAST (70-200 fs):
- 800 nm wavelength
- 1 mJ pulse energy
- 30 – 40 100-150 fs pulse duration
- 1 kHz repetition rate
- Gaussian beam
Note 1:
Output energy or each OPA scales up linearly in 1 – 4.5 mJ range, provided the device is installed and optimized for a particular pump energy. The device has to be re-optimized for optimal performance should the pump energy change more than ±10 % from the installation value).
Note 2:
Pump pulse duration and wavelength affects the specifications. Check the specifications with us if the wavelength or the pulse duration differ from above values.
Note 3:
Specifications are given for a single TOPAS-TWINS channel.
