Hinalea Imaging Corp., a leading provider of advanced hyperspectral imaging solutions, announced the launch of the Luxilab™ “lab-in-a-box” portable inspection system, the latest addition to its award-winning family of intelligent imaging solutions.

The Luxilab system is a fast, accurate, cost-efficient, and eas y-to-use solution, representing the next generation of intelligent hyperspectral imaging solutions. This portable “lab in a box” couples hyperspectral imaging and deep machine learning to deliver the accuracy of lab inspections, with real-time results in the field at the point of detection, like a production facility, farm, or port. This inspection tool can be used for a variety of applications, from measuring the quality and freshness of foods, to detecting the presence of toxins, and microbial classification. The Luxilab system features Hinalea’s cutting edge visible through shortwave-infrared (VSWIR) optics that cover 500 to 1,700nm and designed to acquire 300 spectral bands with a spatial resolution of 1.34 MP. Utilizing a front-staring multiple band sequential approach it does not require mechanical scanning of the subject field of view. Combining high spectral and spatial performance with affordability and portability, it features excellent image uniformity, application flexibility, real-time classification, and includes application software, all in a package weighing less than 4.0 Kgs (8.8 lbs).

“The introduction of our new Luxilab™ “Lab-in-a-Box” Portable Hyperspectral System integrates our recent developments in VSWIR Fabry-Perot based spectral imaging technology with innovations in lighting, field calibration, and sample handling into a completely self-contained and versatile platform, ideal for a large variety of raw material and product quality and safety inspection applications.” said Alexandre Fong, Hinalea’s Chief Technology Officer. The Luxilab “lab-in-a-box” can be ordered now.
