Gentec-EO, a global leader in laser beam measurement instruments, is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 Laser Lab Awards, an international initiative created to support optics laboratories in academic institutions.

Running from May 1 to June 30, 2025, this year’s edition invites university and college instructors to apply for a chance to receive one of 12 laser beam measurement instruments, free of charge. The goal: help students learn with the same high-performance tools used across the photonics industry.
Gentec-EO's thermal laser power meters now compatible with Android devices

Gentec-EO is pleased to officially announce its latest innovation for the laser market that will help many make laser power measurements faster and easier.

Gentec-EO's BLU app for Android now supports INTEGRA UP and XLP power meters. By plugging their INTEGRA UP or XLP into an Android phone via a USB-A to USB-C cable, users can take measurements directly on their phone, view the live chart, see the statistics, create logs, share logs via email, and so on. The INTEGRA is powered by the phone's USB-C port thanks to the adaptor cable.

A well-known research center for high-power lasers is actively developing a new laser that will be one of the most powerful lasers in the United States once it is finished. The goal of their research is to advance fundamental physics. Of course, they are also highly motivated by making ground-breaking discoveries and adding notoriety to their research center by being the first to achieve specific scientific milestones. To achieve their goal, they need to measure the energy of their laser at multiple points in the beam path to make sure every component is as efficient as possible. They need to create as much laser power as possible. All of these energy levels will need to be monitored for safety protocols as well as to add to their scientific papers. Gentec-EO were able to provide the solution.

With its TUBE extension to reduce back-reflections and internal cooling system, the HP60A-15KW-GD-TUBE absorbs up to 99% of the laser’s power, and can withstand long-term exposure of up to 15 kW of continuous power.
