Infleqtion has pushed its Sqorpius neutral atom quantum computing platform’s entangling gate fidelity higher this month to a new record for a commercial quantum computing company.

The new Controlled-Z (CZ) gate fidelity measurement is 98.8%±0.2%. Our fidelity measurement procedure employs a lightweight version of 2-qubit gate randomized benchmarking similar to that described in these papers.

The result uses Infleqtion’s highly scalable and efficient approach using statically-positioned, closely-spaced atoms and tightly-focused, individually-addressed laser beams to execute the entangling gates.

Furthermore, Infleqtion’s approach uses anon-destructive measurement process that allows for detecting some leakage-type errors. Post-selecting for the absence of those errors boosts Infleqtion’s recently measured CZ fidelity to 99.5%±0.2%.

The fidelity increase continues Infleqtion’s progress along our recently announced Sqorpius roadmap.

Infleqtion targets achieving 99.5% CZ fidelity by the end of the year without post-selection, by a combination of system upgrades and gate protocol improvements.
