OVERVIEW The SensL MicroSL range of detectors represent a compact, low-voltage alternative to the more conventional PMT detector. They are well suited to a broad range of applications that require the low-light detection over the wavelengths 400-1000nm MicroSL detectors are based on the silicon photomultiplier concept and form a range of high gain, single-photon sensitive, visible light sensors. The MicroSL family of detectors are available in a variety of miniature packages to suit a wide range of applications, and three detector sizes (1mm, 3mm and 6mm). In addition, the 1mm detectors are available in a range of ‘microcell size’ variants, and represent different performance trade-offs. The MicroSL series detectors come in a variety of pin package formats according to footprint requirements, levels of hermeticity, and cooling. These include glass/metal sealed transistor header package types such as the TO39 (peltier cooled), TO5 and TO18 (uncooled) as well as ceramic packages (X13) which are TO5 pin compatible. In our ceramic packages the detector is mounted on a ceramic header and covered with a clear epoxy resin. This is ideal for applications that require coupling to scintillators. |

The SensL Mini is the first solid state alternative to the long established Photomultiplier Tube (PMT). It combines the high gain and quantum efficiency of the PMT with the well appreciated benefits of silicon including size, low operating voltage, robustness, reliability, magnetic field insensitivity, tolerance of excess/ambient light, and suitability for miniaturization. In addition, the detector has high signal to noise and fast timing properties. The SensL Mini includes transimpedance preamplification, a Peltier cooler driver circuit to enable cooling to -20C and integrated power supply as standard. A variety of add-on options to enhance functionality are provided, including C-mount (male) adapter and a fiber coupler (adapter and fiber cable included). The detector die is mounted on a Peltier cooler and housed in a hermetically sealed TO8 can. During normal operation the SensL Mini is cooled to -20C. This allows even greater performance over room temperature operation as the dark rate is reduced by over an order of magnitude. It is available with a circular active area of 1mm circular diameter or 3mmx3mm. A variety of microcell sizes are offered to allow the SPMMini to optimize dynamic range and detection efficiency. |

SensL Matrix9 is the first modular, turnkey readout system specifically designed for nuclear medicine imaging applications. Building on SensL's silicon photomultiplier (SPM) technology, the Matrix9 provides a fully solid-state, four-side scalable detector for the readout of L(Y)SO scintillator arrays. It integrates the detector with all of the electronics required to localize, time stamp and discriminate scintillation events. Digitized event data comprising time, location and energy are sent to the host system via high speed USB interface. By integrating multiple detector heads, Matrix9 can perform temporal coincidence analysis thereby reducing data rates to the host system. Matrix9 is available as a turnkey, fully integrated module or as an OEM sub-system for rapid integration. |

OVERVIEW The SensL 16-element Silicon Photomultiplier Array is based on the SL line of SPM Sensors. The ArraySL-4 is a 4×4 arrangement of 3mm SPM pixels which are mounted in a low profile ceramic package. The ArraySL-4 permits close packing on all four sides allowing for a detection area that can be as large or small as required by the specific application. It is the first commercially available detector of its kind and will be of particular interest to developers of imaging systems for PET, gamma cameras, hazard and threat detection and fluorescence measurements. The ArraySL-4 utilizes a non-magnetic sensitive package that has been developed using Ni free processing and low magnetic susceptible materials. A 20-pin grid array (PGA) is employed for electrical I/O’s to the user’s printed circuit board or to a standard test socket connector which is included. The pixel array is over-molded with epoxy to completely encapsulate the pixels, bondwires and substrate bondpads. The pixel bias and readout configuration has been designed to allow for both differential and single channel readout electronics to optimize signal-to-noise ratios for PET applications. The performance characteristics and specification of each pixel in the array are identical to SensL’s standard range of 3mm MicroSL SPMs. The ArraySL-4 is sensitive to visible light in the range of 400nm to 850nm and is suited to applications requiring either direct light detection or radiation detection via scintillators. Whether the application requires a 1D array for spectrometry or a 2D array for imaging, the ArraySL-4 is an attractive solution and an ideal replacement for MCPs, multi-anode PMTs, APDs, and existing discrete SPM products. |
