Flight Deck Test of CE-certified NoIR Laser Shield
High-powered hand-held laser pointers have become a significant hazard to law-enforcement officers and pilots, as they can induce a temporary and dazzling flash/glare blindness. The sudden loss of vision from even a low-power laser pointer illumination can be disorienting and debilitating, yet standard sunglasses and typical safety goggles provide virtually no protection from these hazards.
NoIRGlareShields™ laser pointer filters provide sufficient protection from the disabling effects of intentional or incidental laser pointer hits without compromising the wearer’s ability to perform on the job. All NoIR GlareShields™ provide full daylight UV and glare protection along with laser safety. But since the flash-blindness effect of a laser pointer illumination is much more pronounced at night, NoIR offers two GlareShields™ designed for use in low light conditions. GlareShields™ optimize protection from the beam with Optical Densities (ODs) between 1-2.5 (absorbing 90-99.5% of the beam energy), while still allowing visibility of the beam spot (for point source location), all without compromising visual acuity or display panel color recognition.
Lasermet and NPL have produced this joint venture product, Optoblok , the latest safety equipment for use in optical laboratories. Optoblok, the Optical Table Laser Guarding System is designed specifically to reduce the risk of stray laser beams being inadvertently directed at personnel in the laser optics laboratory. This new modular system fits neatly on to optical tables to provide a 300mm high wall.
The LG series of laser safety glasses provide CE certified laser radiation protection. The comfortable frame style can be used over the top of prescription lenses and has top and side shields to protect the user's eyes from peripheral laser radiation. The interior dimensions of the LG series of laser goggles are 145 mm x 53 mm and have a 140 mm temple. The lenses have a diagonal length of 68 mm. Each pair of laser safety glasses comes with a protective storage case, a slip on neck strap, and a cleaning cloth.

Offenhaeuser+Berger also make alignment eyewear for Ar,YAG, Kr, Diode and HeNe lasers.
To complement their eyewear range Offenhaeuser+Berger also offer a range of laser safety windows and even exit windows to protect high quality laser optics from welding spatters or to protect robot sensors (control eye).
Please contact our sales staff for more information about Offenhaeuser+Berger products and prices.
Lastek offers a complete range of laser protective eyewear from supplies such as; Yamamoto, Thorlabs, Glendale, Offenhaeuser + Berger, NoIR and others.
We offer eyewear that conforms to AS/NZS 1337.4 and AS/NZS 1337.5 (equivalent to European standards EN207 and EN208) or if no filter is available that meets the your specific requirements according to EN 207/EN207 Lastek will recommend a filter/glasses that is correct according to the OD requirements of EN60825 and is as close as possible to the requirements of EN 207/EN208. In cases like these it means that the laser safety glasses we quote will always have the correct Optical Density but the stability time of 10 seconds/100 pulses cannot be guaranteed and where available we will give reference to an approximate stability time of the filters when exposed to a laser with the parameters you provide us with.
Lasermet Laser-Blocking Roller Blinds are made from the same Lasermet laser-blocking material as the curtains and are made-to-measure to fit any size of window. They are available as standard or encapsulated options.
Glendale offers a broad range of LGT (glass), Polymer and prescription laser protection eyewear to meet all your safety needs. Explore their full range here.
Produced by GL Services in association with Lasermet Ltd, this is an ideal package for Laser Safety Officers or anyone else who regularly performs risk assessments on lasers or LEDs. According with all the relevant standards, (see below), it will save you hours of work and give consistent and correct answers to your calculations of MPEs, AELs, accessible emission, optical density requirements, classification etc. Because it performs in seconds, calculations which used to take hours, you can easily explore the safety of different scenarios for your laser or laser system. LaserSafe PC is by far the most comprehensive and widely used laser safety software available, with extensive use by major companies, government institutions and Universities.
Reduce interruptions and downtime in your laser facility with accurate indication of laser status
All Class 3B and Class 4 lasers require interlocking to comply with standard laser safety practice. However, while this fulfills the safety requirements it can be annoying and even costly to have your laser shut down when an access door is opened. Such interruptions can be avoided either by using a locking interlock system (see Interlock section), or by providing accurate information regarding your laser status by the use of illuminated signs, or both.
Choose between Mains Powered Fluorescent Signs and Low Voltage LED Signs shown above.
Lasermet Interlock Systems enable organisations to comply with best practice when providing laser users with a safe environment in which to operate hazardous lasers. Designed for maximum safety and efficiency, these Interlock Systems are configured to provide automatic shut-off of the laser beam if safety doors, covers or blinds are opened.
