The new Ocean Optics STS Microspectrometer is a remarkably small CMOS-based unit that is less than 50 mm square and weighs just over 2 ounces. This ultra-compact spectrometer is ideal for OEM devices and provides full spectral analysis with low stray light and high signal-to-noise ratio. STS boasts optical resolution of ~1.5 nm (FWHM) and is particularly suited for high-intensity applications such as LED characterization and absorbance/transmission measurements. STS meets or exceeds optical resolution, stability, sensitivity and other performance criteria associated with larger, more expensive spectrometers. Plus, its built-in shutter makes taking dark measurements more convenient. STS is available with a 25 cm fiber that has a 400 µm core diameter and can be configured with a 25 µm or 100 µm slit. Choose STS-VIS for 350-800 nm wavelengths or STS-NIR for 650-1100 nm. |

The Torus Miniature Spectrometer from Ocean Optics is a Visible range (360-825 nm) unit that delivers low stray light and is ideal for measuring color. Its increased sensitivity and throughput also make is perfect for low light level applications. Torus delivers scientific-grade performance with outstanding thermal stability, making is a brilliant choice for a wide range of challenging applications. For Torus, a variable line spacing grating with 550 (+/-2) grooves/mm groove density at center is used, with a nominal blaze wavelength of 400 nm. This design yields an optical bench in which light can be manipulated more efficiently. The concave grating also helps to improve thermal stability of the Torus. Wavelength drift is nearly eliminated and peak shape stays the same over a wide temperature range. As a result, Torus makes possible precision metrology, fluorescence and absorbance applications with demanding stray light and thermal stability requirements. Typical Applications Torus is the perfect solution for a wide range of applications where low stray light, high throughput and thermal stability are necessary: - Trace gas amounts in the atmosphere
- Absorbance of optically dense solutions
- Precision measurement of LEDs, lasers and other light sources
- Medical dosimetry in tissue and biological media
- Fluorescence from solid surfaces and backscattering/fluorescence in solutions and powders

The Ocean Optics HR4000 Spectrometer is the next-generation high-resolution spectrometer. The HR4000 has a 3648-element CCD-array detector from Toshiba that enables optical resolution as precise as 0.02 nm (FWHM). The HR4000 is responsive from 200-1100 nm, but the specific range and resolution depend on your grating and entrance slit choices. This novel combination of optics and electronics is ideal for applications such as characterizing lasers, measuring gas absorbance, and determining atomic emission lines. We've put together some guides showing how the HR4000 can be configured in various applications, including for gas absorbance , colour reflectometry , laser analysis, metrology, fluorescence, updwelling/downdwelling, UV/VIS reflectometry and solutions absorbance. Our team of spectroscopists is the most experienced in the industry. We love to talk spectroscopy! Benefit from our knowledge, and call us to discuss your application today. |
