Precisely trigger up to 8 channels with the new Ekspla synchronization module and pulse delay generator

Ekspla have introduced a new pulse synchronization module with delay generator. The SY4000 series module is designed to create up to 8 delayed output pulse sequences precisely synchronized to an internal or external clock. A photodetector or electrical signal can be used as the input source to be synchronized. The SY4000 delivers precise delay control from 2 ns to 150 ms, maintaining 25 ps timing resolution.

SY4000 pulse delay generator gives the possibility to create different sequences, such as a delayed trigger or timed series. These features are employed in applications like creating sets of pulses to control Pockel’s cell drivers with one, two, or 4 triggering inputs.

SensL are market leaders in Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) sensors which have been identified as a solution for some of the challenges of automotive LiDAR applications. Through extensive work to understand the requirements of automotive LiDAR, SensL have developed a software model that allows various system configurations and sensor types to be simulated. This work culminated in a design for a ‘Gen3’ LiDAR demonstration system, which relied upon a monolithic 1×16 SiPM array: The ArrayRA-0116A20. This product takes advantage of the recently developed RA-Series process that features enhanced sensitivity to the NIR wavelengths used in automotive LiDAR applications. This results in a sensor that has single photon sensitivity and high responsivity at 905 nm, achieved at a low bias of ~50 V. Full details available here.

Gentec Electro-Optics launches new laser beam samplers

Gentec Electro-Optics, Inc. has just launched 3 models of laser beam samplers to expand the use of the beam profiling cameras for laser beams with power to up to 500W. Three models are offered: 60W, 150W and 500W.

With its uncoated optics and full metal body, the BA optical attenuator is both rugged and broadband. The beam splitter works in two steps. At the first wedge, a fraction of the input power is picked off, while the residual beam is transmitted, almost undisturbed. At the second wedge, an even smaller fraction of the power is sent to the output, which can be either a beam profiling camera or any other sensitive detector. “This is where we added our magic touch,” stated Robert Provencher, Vice President of R&D, Gentec-EO.

New 30 W industrial picosecond UV laser from Ekspla delivers >8000 h service‑free operation

Ekspla, the laser company, is introducing a new picosecond high power UV laser. The Atlantic UV30 industrial picosecond laser is capable of producing 30 W of output power at 355 nm.

In the industrial market, increased reliability and decreased cost of ownership of high power and UV components is critical. The Atlantic UV30 harmonic module optical layout was optimized for longevity and stable operation in UV range. As a result, 8000 hours UV optics lifetime is guaranteed, which is more than 11 months 24/7 service free operation.

Short, 10 ps pulse duration minimizes the heat-affected zone of processed material. Due to the high 75 µJ pulse energy and UV output, the laser can be adаpted for tough processes, like OLED cutting; sapphire processing, ceramics micromachining.
